GET YOUR WEBSITE LISTED IN DMOZ
Having your website listed in the DMOZ directory can be beneficial
for your search engine rankings. It is however almost impossible to
get your site listed within some of the categories. This is normally
due to the category editors having huge backlogs and not enough time
to control the flow of listings suggested. We have included some
basic methods & strategies that may potentially help get your site
listed in dmoz, within a quicker period of time:
- If there are many related categories that you website would fit
into, try suggesting it to one that has its edits updated on a
regular basis. You can monitor the edits by checking the 'last
update' text - located at the bottom of the screen.
- When it comes to suggesting your website, it is vital that you
submit a very well descriptive application. Make sure that your
title is your company or websites official name. Do not promote your
site within the description, include some useful information about
your website and be sure to do a spell & grammar check before
submitting.
- If you still find you cant get listed, consider applying to become
a dmoz editor. This is a strict procedure, they are very cautious on
who they accept to join their team due to corruption and link
